I'm new at this, can someone help?

I need to show this led finger light with a white background. But the light needs to be on and show a little color on that white background. If I just use a brush and white out some area around the light hitting the table then it does not look very good. I want to make a great looking photo to put on the front of this website. I would appreciate any help at all. There is a photo now on the front of this website www.lducompany.com of the finger light but they want me to change it to have a white back ground but show the color light. Thank you.

I took a look.  The easiest way to achieve this is to take the photo of the led light on the white background, then using the pen tool cut it out (if your don't know how to do this, search for the pen tool tutorials for photoshop in google), cut it out and put it on a new layer.  Once on the now layer would put a layer below it and fill it with white.  Then create another layer in-between those two layers and using brush tool and eraser create a nice drop shadow.  The light can be created on a another layer using the beams color and brush tool.

Jewelry photography is a learning process, very very very few have mastered it.  I certainly am not one of them. But we do try hard and I believe that every question is valid one.

Also I'm posting a sample of what it would look like.

I think your ideas so far are great.
They also talked about the farm having a stove.
They buck barley so maybe pictures of barley, pitchforks.
A mouse and maybe a piece of satin ribbon because Lennie liked soft thing. Maybe a piece of the red dress he tore off that girl when they ran away.

I am also a newbie but one thing  I can tell you that some jewelries reflects light too much and on a white background it can make the pics look awful!
